In celebration of International Migrants Day, Chua Chu Kang Town Council (CCKTC) partnered with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to honour the migrant conservancy workers who tirelessly help keep our town clean, safe and welcoming each day. These workers, many of whom have served our estates for years, play an essential role in ensuring that residents enjoy well-maintained and pleasant living environments.
This year, thanks to MOM’s thoughtful initiative, 50 migrant cleaners from Chua Chu Kang Town Council received complimentary tickets to Wild Wild Wet, one of Singapore’s largest water theme park, for a well-deserved day of recreation. Smiles and exchanged words of appreciation filled the room as each cleaner received their ticket. It was a heartfelt moment that acknowledged their daily efforts in upholding the cleanliness of Chua Chu Kang Town.

For many, the outing was a rare chance to unwind with friends and colleagues outside their work environment. Laughter echoed around the slides and pools as the workers enjoyed the attractions, took photos and bonded over shared experiences.
Mr Dilbar, a migrant cleaner supervisor who has served in Chua Chu Kang for six years, shared how meaningful the experience was. “Most of us spend our days working outdoors to keep the estate clean. Having a day like this, where we can relax and feel recognised, means a lot to us. We are very thankful to MOM and CCK Town Council for giving us this opportunity,” he said.
MOM officer, Mr Billy Lim, shared the ministry’s hopes for the initiative. “International Migrants Day reminds us of the many migrant workers who contribute significantly to our society. These workers play a vital role in our neighbourhoods, and we wanted to express our appreciation in a way that was both meaningful and memorable,” he said.
CCK Town Council extends its sincere appreciation to MOM for their commitment to recognising the contributions of migrant workers. Their partnership has enabled a meaningful show of gratitude to the cleaners who serve the community tirelessly throughout the year.
