Loving Where We Live: 2025 CCKTC Calendar Winners

A picture paints a thousand words — and with 12 winning photos, residents showed what they loved most about CCK Town.

Congratulations to the 12 winners whose perfect shots will grace our town’s 2025 calendar!

Here’s a sneak peek at the winning entries before you receive your calendars in your mailboxes from mid-December.

First prize: Rista Amelia (Keat Hong)

It was a first-time lucky for Rista Amelia! The 20-year-old events associate (pictured below) won the top prize worth almost $600 with this photo (pictured above) of residents enjoying a jog along the CCK Park Connector at Brickland Road.

This was her maiden contest. She checked out all the popular spots that CCK residents love to prepare for her submission.

This scene became her winning shot out of the three entries she submitted. The unique combination of lighting, setting and activity made the photo compelling.

The former president of her polytechnic’s photography club said: “I appreciate the photographs featured in our town’s calendar every year as they showed me the different perspectives other residents had of our town.”

Second prize: Yong Kuo Hoong (Hong Kah North)

Teacher Yong Kuo Hoong’s beautiful shots may be familiar, having graced the town’s calendars many times.

His serene shot of sunrise over Fantail Pod at Sungei Buloh’s famous Eagle Point earned him the second prize worth over $400 this year.

The 42-year-old shutterbug has been a keen participant in this annual photography contest, and he noticed the competition has become stiffer over the years.

“It is not about the equipment, but what is the story behind your photo,” he said.

Even though he does not win a prize each time, he still enjoys participating because it pushes him to improve his photography skills. As a result, he has also spent more time exploring the town and discovered many picturesque nooks and crannies.

Third prize: Sreeraj Choorakad (Keat Hong)

Engineer Sreeraj Choorakad, 48, has been a keen participant in the annual contest, but this is the first time he has clinched one of the top three prizes.

This shot of Goodview Park, taken from Bukit Gombak Park, won him almost $300 worth of prizes.

Sreeraj has lived in CCK Town for 18 years. He loves the lush greenery and great community the town offers.

“I like this annual contest because it makes us, residents, feel connected and gives us a chance to contribute to the town in our own small way,” he said.

He has shared the news of his win with his parents in India and is looking forward to sending them a copy as a keepsake.
